SEEKONK, Mass. — In one of the wildest, and most unexpected Pro Stock races to date this season at Seekonk Speedway, former Late Model champion Bobby Pelland shocked the field and scored his first win of the season on Saturday, August 21.

The driver of the No. 12 didn’t have the dominant car early — but when Colbey Fournier lost the top spot after lap 26, it was Pelland who followed others to the front, taking the lead on lap 30, and never looking back en route to the win. It may have been a surprise to most, but after a trying few years, Pelland’s second Pro Stock win was well deserved.

Ryan Kuhn finished second, and although he was disappointed to be a bridesmaid once again, Kuhn was able to celebrate the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series title in the division. Tom Scully Jr. crossed the line third, while Ryan Lineham grabbed his second fourth-place effort of the same night, after also scoring the run in the Sportsman race. Dick Benoit was fifth, followed by Dave Darling, Mike Brightman, Rick Martin, Mark Jenison and Fournier.

The Pro Stocks will return to the track on Saturday, August 28 for another 40-lap feature. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit and follow the series on social media.
