Championship Battles Come to Oktoberfest

The 50th Annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend will get underway on Thursday, October 3rd starting a busy four days of racing with 19 different divisions in action.  Some will determine their 2019 champion at the famous La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway in West Salem, Wisconsin.

The weekly divisions at La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway will be featured on opening night where five divisions will be racing to crown their respective champions.

Steve Carlson holds a five-point lead over Nick Panitzke for the Tobacco Outlet Plus Late Models.

In the Game Fuel Sportsmen division, Chris Weber holds an 18-point lead over Tom Luethe in the standings. Jeff Thompson is just 24 points back in third.

Jason Bolster and Kaleb Hardy will take their battle down to the final lap in the Auto Value Hobby Stocks.  Bolster holds a 13-point lead over Hardy coming into the final night of racing.

Just six points separate Mark Bornitz and Jimmy Bjorkman in the ANTS Pest Control Hornets division.  Jake Schomers is just 20 points behind Bornitz.

Jake Schomers will head into the Auto Value Street Stocks season finale with a 30-point lead over Chris Larson.

Many touring series will be heading into Oktoberfest to decide their 2019 championships.

The ARCA Midwest Tour will determine their champion with the Oktoberfest 200 on Sunday afternoon.  Austin Nason, who won at the Milwaukee Mile earlier this year, comes into Fest with a one-point lead over Casey Johnson, who has victories at Rockford Speedway and Jefferson Speedway this season. John DeAngelis is third, only 61 points behind Nason.

The Big 8 Series have four drivers from four different States ready to battle of the championship on Saturday night with their 38-lap season finale. Illinois driver Michael Bilderback comes into the weekend with a 56-point lead over Iowa’s Brody Willett.  Minnesota’s very own Chad Walen third, just 64 points behind Bilderback. Dale Nottestad, who won at the National Short Track Championships at Rockford Speedway last weekend and is from Wisconsin, is 97 points back from the leader.

Due to a rainout at last weekend’s National Short Track Championships at Rockford Speedway, the Mid-American Stock Car Series will head to Oktoberfest as the first of the last two events on their 2019 schedule. Ron Vandermeir, Jr. has a 30-point lead over Bobby Gutknecht in the standings. Jason Thoma is third, only 45 points behind Vandermeir.

The Midwest Truck Series will also be coming to Oktoberfest with two races remaining on their season schedule. Levon Van Der Geest, fresh off his victory at Dells Raceway Park in Wisconsin Dells, WI, currently holds a 100-point lead over James Swan. Kevin Kneuse is third, just 129 points behind the young driver.

The action will start this Thursday, October 3rd with qualifying at 2:25pm and racing at 6pm
