DILLON MACKESY CAPTURES MARSHFIELD SUPER LATE MODEL MAIN

TIM FINSTAD CAPTURES FIRST FEATURE WIN AT MMS! TOM LECHER SCORES FEATURE WIN IN BANDITS!

Marshfield, WI, – Many fans, drivers, and crew members braved the intense heat, and came on out to Marshfield Motor Speedway to enjoy a great day of racing action. Kudos to all the drivers & teams, as the day went caution free in all events of all divisions!

Mark Eswein turned the fastest lap of the day for the Super Late Models, in qualifying. With Darren Jackson capturing the Chili Implement Dash 4 Cash, heat winners for the super late models today were Brian Hakala & Dillon Mackesy.

Mike Reichenberger jumped out to the early lead in the 35-lap feature event for the super late models. Reichenberger, who appeared he might have the car to beat today, led the first 17 laps. Flanked by Dillon Mackesy for the first 17 laps, Reichenberger gave way to Dillon Mackesy on lap 18. By lap 20, AJ Kreager worked herself to the third position, with Darren Jackson on her bumper cover. Jackson would make the pass on Kreager on lap 22, and one lap later, Jackson drove by Mike Reichenberger. With Dillon Mackesy enjoying a 5-car length lead, Darren Jackson had his sites set on Mackesy for the lead. Jackson closed to the rear of Mackesy with two laps remaining. As the drivers exited turn two, Jackson looked low, but Mackesy quickly slammed the door shut on Jackson. As starter Geno Eckes threw the checkered flag, it was Dillon Mackesy capturing his first career feature win on the half-mile paved oval. With Jackson’s second place finish, it was his third consecutive week in doing so. With Mike Reichenberger having an excellent run today and finishing third, AJ Kreager and Mark Eswein finishing fourth and fifth respectively.

Eric Breitenfeldt has been fast all year in the Bandit division, and today was no different. Breitenfeldt grabbed fast time with a lap time of 23.153 seconds. Brad Lecher and Tom Lecher bolted to heat wins today for the Bandits. Point leader, Tom Lecher, jumped out to the early lead in the main event for the Bandits. With Eric Breitenfeldt holding down a solid second place, it was Hunter Landwehr moving his #85 car to the third position. With the top three drivers staying status quo throughout the event, Landwehr would edge by Breitenfeldt on the race’s final lap. In the end, it was Tom Lecher earning the top spot. Branden Sischo and Brad Lecher notched fourth and fifth respectively.

Brandon Van Stedum proved to be the fastest 6-shooter today, the young hotshoe notched fast time and the heat win today.

Josh Zacharius, heat one winner, jumped out to the early lead for the 6-shooter feature event. With Zacharius leading the first few laps, Dan Frye led laps three & four. Van Stedum, whom of which holds down the point lead for the 6-shooters, proved to be dominant again today. Van Stedum moved by Frye, and never looked back. With Brandon Van Stedum earning another feature win, it was Matt Moore showing speed, finishing second. Third place tonight went to Josh Zacharius.

The X-Treme 4’s were once again in action here tonight, and it was Tim Finstad cracking a 21.995 second lap to earn top honors in qualifying. Finstad, who competes all over the Midwest, also won the heat race as he edged out Chad Ferge.

Gary Garand took the green flag and would lead the first few laps of the X-treme 4’s feature event. With Garand leading, it was Finstad right on his bumper. Finstad, whom of which was looking for the sweep tonight, made the pass of Garand for the race lead. With Finstad holding a comfortable lead, Chad Ferge started to close on Garand for the runner up position. With five laps remaining, Ferge raced his way past Garand for the second spot. Once the drivers received the checkered flag, it was Finstad earning that much wanted sweep of the divison. With Chad Ferge grabbing the second spot, and Gary Garand the third positon, Ryan Brock and Ron Sischo rounded out the top five.

2-Man Cruisers competed tonight, and it was the team of Walter Mancil and Joey Kuhn, cracking the fastest lap, earning top honors in qualifying. The team of Craig Lyon and John Van Stedum cruised to the heat & feature wins, here tonight at Marshfield Motor Speedway. With the team of Joey Kuhn and Walter Mancil finishing second in the feature, Jason Greenweller and Todd Heske finishing third.

Mark your calendars, as next week, June 12th, the Tundra Super Late Models will be invading the half-mile paved oval of Marshfield Motor Speedway. The Tundra Super Late Models, one of the top Super Late Model Series in America, will be competing in the 5th Annual Bev Aschenbrenner Memorial. Joining the Tundra Super Late Models, will be the Midwest Dash Series, and the always exciting Upper Midwest Vintage Series. Fan gates will open at 5pm, qualifying at 5:45pm, with the first green flag falling at 7pm. The Bev Aschenbrenner Memorial is presented by A&A Lock Service and Incredible Bank.
