After restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic delayed the start of Peterborough Speedway’s 2020 season, action will soon get underway with the first events of the year scheduled for Saturday, September 19th and 26th. Presented by Crowe’s Gas Bar and Dart Heating & Air Conditioning; in partnership with Lakeshore Power and Cornerstone Builders, each show will feature the Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, Jiffy Lube Mini Stock and Trailers Plus Ontario Legends. KOD Disposal Super Stocks will be the 4th division September 19th, while the Ontario Midgets round-out the September 26th line-up. Racing each day begins at 5:00.

In addition to the regular race purse, track officials recently announced that Jeff Drimmie and the team at KOD Disposal have added some extra incentive for Bone Stock and Mini Stock racers. Teams supporting both shows will be eligible for a mini-series point fund that pays bonus cash to the top 7 drivers in each division. The overall Mini Stock champion will take home an additional $1000, while the best of the Bone Stock field pockets a further $600. Full payout details can be found by checking Facebook or Twitter social media platforms, with other prizes and bonuses to be announced in the coming days.

“We’re very fortunate to have the sponsorship and support from some very good friends and marketing partners,” said track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse. “Like other tracks, we’re asking teams to register their intention to compete to ensure contact tracing. Details – including payment information for each class – are available by accessing the event registration information from the ‘Driver Info’ drop-down menu on our web-site.”

Grandstand admission is limited to 100 spectators. Fans can request tickets for either or both shows. Orders are limited to 2 tickets per person and must be prepaid by credit card or e-transfer. Submit requests via

e-mail to: jp@peterboroughspeedway.com and be sure to include your full name and contact information in the message. If orders received exceed the allowable limit as dictated by provincial guidelines, a lottery will be held and successful bidders will be notified. Tickets are $40 per person. Season pass holders are also asked to contact the track.

“We’re taking the steps required to help guarantee the safety, health and wellbeing of everyone who comes onto the property for our upcoming shows,” J.P. Josiasse said. “Our staff and officials are ready to work with our fans, race teams, family and friends to create a positive, comfortable and secure environment.”
