“OFFICIAL” 2020 SEASON ANNOUCEMNT

Travis Braden – 2019 was a busy year and a lot of things are changing for the better for me in 2020! I have not yet made an official announcement regarding my 2020 plans because there have been a lot of moving parts the past few months and it was impossible for me to share much until some progress was made. So, here’s the deal:

Platinum Motorsports and I ended 2019 with our biggest win yet- the Snowball Derby. I will be competing with Myna and her team again in 2020. You will be seeing us at all the big late model shows- even some we’ve never entered in before. LATE MODEL RACING WILL BE MY PRIMARY FOCUS IN 2020. Myna and her entire crew give me great race cars to drive, and all the tools I need to do my job and get to Victory Lane. My primary goal for 2020? To bring home that guitar from Nashville.

As some of you may have noticed, I was not at the ARCA Menards Series test in Daytona last weekend. I have left my role as driver & crew member at RFMS Racing and will NOT be driving the 27 car in the ARCA Menards Series in 2020. During 2019 I began to realize that my desire to continue my career in stock car racing was just simply greater than what doing so in Indianapolis was ever going to allow.

I’ve been asked a lot recently about making my first NASCAR start in the Trucks or Xfinity Series. And YES- that is a huge goal of mine! For my entire career, I’ve been a paid driver. Meaning, I’ve never had to bring funding or sponsorship for my rides. However, I am to the point in my career where driver funding is a necessity to go any further. And as a broke kid from West Virginia, coming up with that kind of money is easier said than done. It hasn’t been easy, and there’s a long road ahead. I’ve been lucky to have an AMAZING amount of support and commitments from Jess, and we are working hard, together, to make the best of some great opportunities on the horizon. On Friday, Jess and I arrived in Charlotte, NC where we plan to call home for the foreseeable future.

Jess and I’s goal is to build longevity in our position in motorsports. Sometimes you have to take a step back to take the next 10 steps forward. It’s going to be a lot of fun, and none of it will (or has been) easy, but we’re going to make our mark and do what we love to do! I appreciate the overwhelming amount of support you all have given me, and now Jess as well. I truly could not have come this far without you, and I would not stand a fighting chance going forward without you either. Thank you, and here’s to 2020!
