West Virginia Motor Speedway Begins Installation of New Whelen Racetrack Safety Lighting for 2021

(Mineral Wells, WV) – West Virginia Motor Speedway welcomes Whelen Engineering to the speedway family. The two entities have inked a partnership that will further enhance the 5/8 mile “Speedplant”. NASCAR style safety lighting will adorn dirt’s super speedway, WVMS, as action returns to the shuttered track in April of 2021 for the first time since 2013.

With renovations still on going, WVMS Promotions, LLC are excited to further develop the speedway in all facets especially safety improvements. WVMS Promotions, LLC will take a strong approach in the coming years to ensure driver safety is a priority focus of the operation. The includes additional track safety training courses, facility safety improvements, racer equipment guidelines and more.

The state of the art Whelen lighting system will allow for greater driver visibility which helps the teams to approach potential accidents on the track at more cautious speeds. The lights give off a more attentive (red, amber and green) signal that will warn participants of potential hazards on the speedway and currrent race conditions.
