World of Outlaws

JAMIE BIRD For The Express

It was Friday night and I was watching the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Invitational at Knoxville Raceway. But I wasn’t smelling the alcohol, oil or brakes. The biggest smell in my vicinity was Lysol as I was like the majority of the world at home and practicing social distancing.
Some of our local PA Sprint car drivers made the trip to Iowa in order to be able to run a race. Logan Schuchart finished third, Brock Zearfoss finished 11th, followed by Danny Dietrich in 12th. Jacob Allen was 23rd.

Robbie Kendall, Brent Marks and Lucas Wolfe didn’t make the feature.

It was a night where excited fans and various companies watching on DIRTVision donated extra money throughout the night totaling nearly $15,000. Part of it brought Gravel’s win total from $10,000 to more than $15,000.

The Selinsgrove Speedway was going to try racing without fans, until the governor sent them a letter shutting the track down. They will attempt to run “Posse Unleashed” on Saturday at 7 pm. It will be a non-social, non-public race, but you can watch it on pay per view at thecushion.com for $24.95

See you at the races soon, hopefully.
